The Hallora Marathon

The Hallora Marathon began as a marathon in 2015.

The event was started by Daniel (the event president) as a perfect opportunity for him to raise money for Peter Mac, as he saw this cause to be so important, as it was very close to his heart.

The event was inspired by one of Daniel’s friend’s, Sarah Porter, who was diagnosed with Leukaemia. She spent a long time at Peter Mac during her recovery.

Daniel’s Pa was also diagnosed with the disease, and passed away, after suffering prostate cancer.

Following this, the drive to make the Hallora Marathon Festival happen each and every year since has been inspired by these stories, and the stories of so many others.

We want to be able to raise money to allow people like Sarah and Daniel’s Pa the optimal treatment, to go on and live fulfilling lives.

EVENT DAY INFO:

Our 24km and 42km events begin at Hallora Recreation Reserve.

Our 16km, 8km, 5km and Kid Dash events start at Western Park in Warragul.

The finish line for all events is at Western Park in Warragul.

The event hub displays a great community buzz of spectators, music, MCs, merchandise, food, drinks and a community BBQ fundraiser held by The Pharaoh’s Angels. It’s certainly the place you want to be!

The Hallora Marathon Festival supports community engagement and we are extremely grateful for The Baw Baw Shire Council, as well as our sponsors and all of the local businesses, who assist us each year.
